WEATHERFORD, TX (CBSDFW.COM) – To celebrate the birthday of Larry Hagman’s, a statue of the late actor was revealed in Weatherford, TX. Hagman’s children, daughter Kristina and son Preston, were there Sunday, along with his sister Heller Halliday. Weatherford is Hagman’s hometown. The Hagman Memorial Committee with the help of the Civic Development Committee raised the $70,000 to pay sculptor Kelly Graham to create the statue. The statue stands 6 “1” and has Hagman wearing western boots, hat and his famous watch. Hands in his lapel as he always stood. Hagman’s son Preston said the statue really captured his father’s likeness. “I think it captured the likeness down to his watch. His eyebrows, if you look closely you’ll see the trademark eyebrows dad had and cowboy boots. Everything it’s perfect,” said Preston. The statue is placed at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center in Weatherford. Hagman was famous for his role in T.V. series “Dallas” and “I Dream of Jeanie”. He would have been 83-years-old. |
