I love this movie!!!!!!

I got the first part on VHS from Video Treasures many years ago and it was recorded in SLP mode and is horrible quality..... I recorded it onto another tape IN SP MODE and its 1000% better! (Better audio, etc)

I have really only seen part 1 .... Only bits and pieces of part 2/3 but I do think 1 is the best!!

What do you think of this movie??

One of my favorite horror films. I recently watched the Scream Factory Blu-ray release and they really did a good job on the restoration, commentaries and features.

I do like the Pamela Springsteen sequels but I haven't seen them in some time.

There is also 2003's Return to Sleepaway Camp which works as a direct sequel to the original (discontinuing 2 and 3). I haven't seen it since it first came out but I wasn't too crazy about it. Felissa Rose and Jonathan Tieresten do come back.

A remake is also reported to be in the works...

I just found out that Pamela Springsteen is the sister of Bruce Springsteen, and she also once had a relationship with Sean Penn as well.

I'm a huge fan of Sleepaway Camp, when parts 2 and 3 originally came out I liked them, but watching them again a few years ago Pamela Springsteen annoys the heck outa me, and it's not just because of her character as I found her annoying in the movie Fast Food.

The 2008 sequel Return To Sleepaway Camp from the writer/director of the original was ok, though the "twist" was obvious and silly, it was nice seeing Jonathan Tiersten, Paul DeAngelo, and Felissa Rose back.

There's also Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor, which was released in 2012, it's basically clips from 1-3, and footage from the unfinished 2002 sequel.

I've seen some of Felissa's roles in recent years, she's okay as an actress, she was in the 2009 horror-comedy Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre which parodys summer camp horror flicks like Sleepaway Camp. (she also appears in the following Cesar and Otto flicks, though I haven't seen them.) She's supposedly going to be in the upcoming remake of the 1975 horror film Criminally Insane aka Crazy Fat Ethel.

Another famous sister in those sequels is Renee Estevez (who also appeared in the 1989 slasher Intruder.)

I scanned the Sleepaway Camp VHS that I have.

It's the Anchor Bay one released in 2000.

It has one of the best twist endings in the horror genre. I remember watching it a friend's house late one night when I was eight years old and I was scared out of my wits. The 80's sequels I didn't like, because they were trying to be funny instead of scary, and Pamela Springsteen was annoying.

Good to see I'm not the only one that found her annoying, she seems to be popular amongst many horror fans.
