Lately, I've become interested in the daytime game show "Fantasy" that aired in NBC daytime in 1982-83. Why? Because it's odd; it's classified as a game show even though the few video clips available have no gameplay. Plus, a number of clips have segments like kid's news and musical performances. Did anyone see this show back then, and could you give me a clearer idea of what it was about?

I remember this show. It featured contestants, through letters appeared on the show to make their dreams come true. The show was co-hosted by Peter Marshall and Leslie Uggams and lasted over a year. The show was creamed in the ratings by General Hospital and Guiding Light and a number of affiliates didn't air Fantasy, due to local or syndicated programming commitments.
The show that replaced Fantasy was funnier but also suffered from ratings and clearance problems was The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour. |

It was a show that was similar to You Asked for It where viewers wrote in to have their fantasies fulfilled. What contestants had to do varied each show depending on the circumstances.

Oh I loved that show as a kid. My local NBC affiliate didn't carry the show but luckily I was able to get another NBC station with my antenna.

I recall that show. Our NBC outlet ran it until its last month when an "Hour Magazine" clone called "Breakaway" pre-empted it.
