"Grey's Anatomy": April's Mom is Coming to Town — But There's a Twist!

At long last, the Kepner family tree is complete. Or at least it will be this fall when "Grey’s Anatomy" formally introduces April’s mother.

TVLine has learned exclusively that Connie Ray has been cast as the Kepner clan’s matriarch, Karen.

This is technically a recast, since the character appeared briefly (sans dialogue) at April’s wedding to Jackson last season played by a different actress (the first person to ID said mystery actress in the comments wins a 20% off coupon to Bed Bath & Beyond).

Mama K pays her pregnant daughter a visit in a November episode.

"Grey’s Anatomy" returns Thursday, Sept. 25 at 8/7c.

I don't watch "GA" but I absolutely love Connie Ray. She's a wonderful actress. I wish someone would release "The Torkelsons" on DVD!
