As many of you know, LMN (Lifetime Movie Network) has sort of morphed into what Bio was: airing a heavy dose of true crime programming in the morning. That includes 2 hour blocks of Cold Case Files weekday mornings (American Justice and City Confidential reruns have also been seen, though they are less frequent and on a less reliable schedule). Not surprisingly, Lifetime movies take up much of the remaining portion of scheduling
I've noticed recently that they've begun airing first-run true crime documentaries, and during prime-time hours to boot. Not sure if this is an occasional thing or which direction they're headed, but it's a pleasant surprise. The other night, they had a documentary on Luka Magnotta. This was a pretty famous case from a couple of years back where he hacked up a student and sent the body parts all over to Canada, including to the headquarters of political parties. They also had a few specials on young persons that kill. I recorded all those, but have yet to watch them. It will be interesting to see if they do more specials like these. I hope the ratings were good enough to warrant future shows. |
