TV "Baby Daddy" and "General Hospital" Announce Crossover

"General Hospital" and "Baby Daddy" To Stage a Crossover
by Natalie Abrams
Sep 8, 2014

In an interesting act of corporate synergy, ABC soap "General Hospital" and ABC Family’s "Baby Daddy" are staging a crossover, EW has learned exclusively.

Basically this is how it all goes down: "Baby Daddy’s" Danny (Derek Theler), who plays for the New York Rangers, finds out that "General Hospital" has offered him a role playing himself. However, his small scene is enough to make him nervous, so he enlists best friend and not-so-secret crush, Riley, to help him.

Riley happens to be a huge "General Hospital" fan and loves Kelly Monaco’s character, Sam, so when they arrive on set, Riley totally freaks out and starts to irritate the actress.

Then "General Hospital's" Kelly Monaco will be seen playing a very exaggerated and over-the-top version of herself on "Baby Daddy".

The crossover event will air sometime in 2015 at the beginning of Season 4.

Cute idea.....today in NYC metro area GH returned to 3PM eastern, I don't like the fact that most of the country will see the show before New York, the number one market!

My question is as a 35 year viewer of GH, and television enthusiest where and what is "Baby Daddy" and its entering its 4th season? I have been obviously oblivious.

This is a must see for me I DVR both shows. Baby Daddy is about A 20-something bachelor bartender becomes an unlikely parent when an ex-girlfriend leaves a baby girl on his doorstep. He has help from his mother who played Barbara Jean on Reba and friend T.J. Mowry from Smart Guy, the guy above plays the brother. It's a pretty funny show.

I believe it's on at 8:30pm Eastern right after Melissa & Joey on ABC Family.

Thanks so much, as a avid TV person I was shocked I never heard of "Baby Daddy" but now I know why? ABC Family?.....geez I have watched GH for over 35 years, seems like a very lame crossover for General Hospital.......the longest running scripted series in TV history at 51 years, a record that will never be duplicated.

They have had ABC Primetime stars guesting on GH and of course Kelly Monaco won the first season of "Dancing With The Stars" and since have had two other previous GH actors on "Dancing" and of course Kelly returned for "all-stars" edition. Plus the cast of "The Chew" appeared on GH.

ABC Family?....won't mean a thing to either viewer of each show.

I am looking for vintage episodes of OLTL. Any episodes with Marco when he was impersonating his brother Mario and when he was dating Edwina Lewis. I believe these episodes were from the early 80's.

"Baby Daddy" Stars To Crossover to "General Hospital"
by Natalie Abrams
Jan 7, 2015

Kelly Monaco won’t be the only one having crossover fun this winter.

As EW first announced, the "General Hospital" star will be crossing over to "Baby Daddy" playing an exaggerated version of herself, but now we can exclusively reveal that some of the "Baby Daddy" cast will return the favor by appearing on the ABC soap.

Derek Theler and Melissa Peterman, who play Danny and Bonnie Wheel on the ABC Family series, will make their way to Port Charles for the Valentine’s Day-themed episode.

Here’s the scoop:

When Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) has a surprise visitor from her Bensonhurst days, Melissa Santoro Picard (Peterman), it quickly becomes clear that Olivia is upset on V-day because she’s carrying a torch for Ned… who is carrying a torch for Alexis… who is carrying a torch for Julian. (Soaps, right?)

Melissa sets out to give Ned a piece of her mind over the way he’s treated Olivia and is surprised to find a familiar face working at the Quartermaines’.

Meanwhile, Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) is called to consult on a case at the last minute, delaying his date at the Metro Court with Sam (Monaco). His colleague, Derek (Theler), also happened to be stood up by his date, so he keeps Sam company, and the two discover the true meaning of Valentine’s Day.

Moanco’s episode of "Baby Daddy" is slated to air on Feb. 4, while the "General Hospital" portion of the crossover will air on Feb. 13.

This is so gimmicky. They are trying to do everything they can to boost the ratings for GH in the key demos.

To me it's just stupid. Ron needs to focus on writing real stories instead of doing stuff like this. He is the worst.

Also. The name of this other show. Turns me off all together. Seriously.

I thought the appearances on GH were pretty good though Derek Theler needs to work on his acting Melissa was hilarious.
