Default Mary's take home monthly pay was $680.00 in 1974?

Wow, that was truly 40 years ago. Plus it's reveals that her rent was $145 a month

$680.00 a month after taxes is considered poverty in 2014

This episode was "Phyllis Whips Inflation"

Things are just too damn much money today. $1800 could buy you a Honda Civic in 1974. Cadillacs were only $10 grand.

What would $680 a month's pay be equivalent to today? And $145 rent. She did have a studio. I wonder if that was considered a good price than for a studio apt. or pricey?

Wow!!! So a minimum wage person would be really bringing in peanuts if $680 was equivalent to all that money! I started working in 1979 part time and minimum wage was around 2 something if I remember correctly?

I don't think Mary was struggling though at the time. She kind of reminded me of myself

Single, Live alone, no kids, no car and had enough money to pay rent, buy food, pay bills, and save
