Default Battle Of Must See TV

What was the single best show ever televised on Thursday night on NBC during the 1980's-2000's:

And yes I know all the former NBC Presidents dead or living (Silverman, Tartikoff & Littlefield) have all have since taken credit for Thursday nights and "must see tv".

But the best of the bunch and the greatest of them all (if there ever was one??)

...It's your pick!:

Vote Now!!

You didn't put Friends, I don't think a lot of people remembers Mama's Family and Dear John.

I chose not to pick a drama.

Although, now that you mention it...

You really think Hill Street Blues was better than ER or L.A Law?

Could be?

Sure, of course.. but it wasn't.

Best drama (my pick)

1. E.R
2. L.A Law
3. Hill Street Blues

The Sunday tv-movie launch on NBC of "E.R" was vastly superior to any particular episode of "Hill Street Blues" in my opinion.

That is, any time/date/season.

"ST. Elsewhere" was a better all around show than "Hill Street Blues".

It's got to bother you that "Mama's Family" is so underrated?

Can anybody out there really name another television show other than "Mama's Family" that was more popular in it it''s syndication version than the network version?

Doesn't really bother me at all. I've never been one to follow crowds.

The best year of the must see lineups was 1993: Mad About You, Wings, Seinfeld, and Frasier in its rookie season from 8-10.

I'm guessing Fame was more popular syndicated, only 2 seasons on NBC but 4 more in syndication. Baywatch is another famous one, NBC cancelled it after one season and it turned out to be a big hit in syndication.

Those are great, I'll add "Lawrence Welk", "Charles in Charge" to that list.

Also, I agree with you that the 93-94 was their best lineup.

...Your "Top 100" [not to hijack the thread] is a most unusual one; it's a pretty darn good list mixed with shows from the 50's to today and some that most people have never even heard of.
