Yup, that's right Mill Creek's "Benson" season 1 & 2 DVDs are out on Amazon!

Hopefully, there'll be season 3 and beyond in the running...if these are successful! Sure, they may not be the dream-release set us fans are dying to claim, but we gotta start somewhere!
At least Mill Creek made them into real DVDs with good-looking cover photos!

Yes I must say mill creek did good job with the second season release. That's the only one I ordered from them. The discs are nice and the cover art front and back is much better. So a pretty good release from them and
A step up from Sony's MOD version, but I did like those couple of season 3 episodes Sony gave us. Hopefully we get the rest of the seasons released soon!! It's been way too long now!'

was an official release, with regular DVD packaging and such. But, yes, great that seaso n2 now has that, as well.

I just don't love that Caroline McWilliams isn't on the cover, as she was a main character.

I agree. Caroline got snubbed on both season 2 cover art releases. They used the same photos, one with Denise and one with Denise taken out. I know there were many other cast photos with Caroline that they could've chosen. It's a shame.

I'm just gonna hang on to my original season 2 MOD set because it has those few season 3 episodes included. I consider those episodes special features...

Yes, Mill Creek did get the episode order correct! I held on to my mod set because of the season 3 episodes too, but also order this set for cover art and pressed discs, and episode order.

Does anyone know what the hold-up is on the next seasons of Benson? My husband loves that show (I like it too), and I keep watching for it. He already has seasons 1 and 2, probably the original DVD releases. But the rest? What's going on?

Good question. Since the last release was "on demand" (initially anyway), I expected the rest of the seasons to be released in the same format shortly thereafter. Almost 4 years later we're still waiting on Season 3.
What I had heard was that they put the kibosh on releasing more seasons because the first two had not sold as well as anticipated. Of course, with minimal exposure anywhere on a regular basis in the last couple of decades, I am not sure what they were expecting from this obviously marginalized show.

Hopefully the show being aired again on the FamilyNet station will help get the ball rolling again. It truly doesn't make sense to not finish what was already started.
