Jj's boisterous personality and trying hard to be funny would evoke the topic quote. It was like he was begging to get laughs. Like a bum begging you for a dollar, and you want them to get lost, so you throw the dollar at them, so was JJ's "Funny bits." You laugh because you feel pity for him, not out of genuine amusement....
