the family was going with James to Alaska. Then once she found out it was just him she said......."Do we live that bad that you need to leave us for a year"

So she didnt want to go to Alaska and didn't want James to go either lol So basically Florida was a content with being poor and not improving financially. Damm she was dumb

Wonder if JJ wasn't do goofy would she have been ok with James going to Alaska

Exactly, so Florida was comfortable living poor in the projects instead of trying to live a better life with more money moving to Alaska....also, she did not think about that, if it does not work out with james new job, we could come back to Chicago or anywhere else to start over....keep in mind that the kids (Thelma, Michael and JJ), were not babies

And since she wanted him to stay atleast she could have gotten a job LOL
