Default Advice for all Diff'rent Strokes fans.

TAPE THE SHOW!!! This isn't just advive for DS fans, it's advice to anyone with a favorite show. Iv'e noticed that when a show is taken off the air people get extremely upset. But the other day I was thinking if everyone started taping the show off TNN now you wouldn't be upset if it gets taken off the air. I always feel so bad for people who get there favorite show taken off the air. Especially when they end up having to pay ridiculous amounts of money to see it again. I set my vcr up to tape all 22 episodes that TNN has played so far, and strongly suggest that others do the same. I just want to help.

I do tape it. I've taped every episode of DS that Trouble air, because I know for a fact that after Trouble pull the plug on DS, it almost probably will never air on UK television again.

I do. However I've had a couple of problems. One is that I taped over some other episodes on accident and two is the power was off during it so I didn't get it on tape.

That's a nice and thoughtful suggestion for those who would be crushed if Diff'rent Strokes or any other of their favorites went off the air for good. But let's hope that doesn't happen. Shows like DS don't lose their relevance in only a few decades. If you look at the Dana Plato Memorial site, you'll notice how many young people wrte into the guestbook to say how much they love her and the show. By young I mean from early twenties down to 6 or 8 years old. For them, especially, and upcoming young people, I hope it remains on the air for a long time yet or returns when the programers see the error of their ways each time that they remove it.

It's unfair that in America it is only shown during the dy, it should be on at a better time to get a bigger audience and somen new fans. When Trouble started airing it last year that's when I became a fan.

Good advice to everyone to tape the episodes. I have all 106 episodes that Trouble have the rights to on tape.

I DO tape It!!!!! Are u kidding me!! When N@N played it, I like taped it everday, every time it came on. DS is my all time favorite show! But I still want it to be aired so others can watch it, and plus I don't mind watching it over and over again.

I'm not talking about watching it over and over again. I'm talking about 20 years from now when the show is no longer on the air having a great show on tape to remind you of your childhood. Everytime a show goes off the air I hear people complain, all i'm saying is if you have every episode on tape then having the show go off the air wont hurt you.

What is your argument? I'm giving some advice to people who really like the show. I'm obviously not talking about you. And as far as vcr's not being around in 20 years, I don't see why not. Unless everyone in the world throws out there vcr's which wont happen. They were around twenty years ago, so why not another 20 years. Vcr's will always be around. I think your missing my point so i'm not even going to bother with you anymore.

im saying there will probably be a new form of technology to watch things. old record players are rare in this day of time so why wouldnt vcrs be in 20 or 30 years from now?

There will be machinery to convert videos over to DVD's. I think there already is.

That's what I was going to say. Of course when VCR's are improved upon all of the millions of miles of tapes could be transferred! You have to know that there are tapes with top secrets, to Granny's favorite walking baby on VCR to someones priceless Diff'rent Strokes episode, so it's unthinkable that technology wouldn't allow for ttransfer. Sofl seemed to be getting grouchier and grouchier as the threads went along. I noticed that beginning last night.LOL!

I had another idea about taping the show. Well not taping but you can make your own dvd's this way they will never fade out after playing them over and over dvd's last a lifetime and play perfect 100% each and every time. Dvd recorders are now sold at the Wiz and other big electronic stores.
