SAW To Slash Back into Theaters This Halloween

Lionsgate is bringing SAW back to theaters this Halloween to celebrate the 2004 film's tenth anniversary. The original film, starring Cary Elwes and Danny Glover, will hit the big screen nationwide for one week starting Oct. 31.

The series, centered on the killer Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) and his traps in which victims have to mutilate themselves to survive, became something of a Halloween classic between 2004 and 2010, with one film released per year.

The first installment's $103 million worldwide led off a series that has snared $874 at the global box office, a total for which the Guinness Book of World Records deemed it the most successful horror franchise of all time.

And it has its place in contemporary horror history: it's the first collaboration of director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell. Wan directed and Whannell wrote the first two installments of the Insidious franchise, with Whannell helming the upcoming third.

Wan's other credits include Death Sentence, The Conjuring and Fast & Furious 7.

Oh that's cool now I wish they would make more SAW sequels, these were the best movies to look forward every Halloween.

totally agree....and would luv to see the original movie in theatres again.
