Chris Soules Chosen as ABC's New "Bachelor"

ABC has chosen Chris Soules as the next star of "The Bachelor", it was announced Wednesday on "Good Morning America".

"I was humbled, flattered, grateful," he said during the reveal. "Coming from a small town, I never expected to have this opportunity to be on either show, let alone be the lead on The Bachelor. So, it's been awesome."



Soules, 32, became a fan-favorite on the most recent season of "The Bachelorette" and made it to the Final 3. During his fantasy suite date with Andi, she decided to let him go before the night was over.

Following his exit, the Iowa farmer told us, "It's OK to be vulnerable. When I get the opportunity with the right person, I can do that and still survive if it doesn't work out and still do it again. This helped me learn a lot about myself and how to cope and put yourself in situations and manage it as an adult and without family and friends. I know it helped me grow."



When we asked host Chris Harrison about the prospect of Soules becoming the "Bachelor" he told us, "He'd be a great bachelor! He's a sweet guy, really honest and hard-working."
