Was his case ever featured on Unsolved Mysteries? His story is on The Charley Project. Basically, a "supposed" DSS worker comes to David's house and talks to his mom Vanessa about a sponsored Christmas party at the hospital and this "social worker" was supposed to take them there. The mom let David and his brother Frederick go with the mystery woman. They never returned. They found Frederick in Hampton Virginia later that afternoon with his name and address written on a piece of paper in his pocket. I believe a few days after they were abducted, someone called Vanessa's house asking what type of formula David was on. When they tried to trace the phone call, the person hung up. Vanessa died in 1997 at the age of 35. This happened in Newport News, Virginia on December 11th, 1980. Im not trying to blame the mother for this completely, but why on Earth would she trust a complete stranger to take her kids to some party?

I'm almost positive that this never aired on UM.
I find cases like this a little suspicious. As you said, most parents would never dream of letting a stranger simply take their child to some event with no other proof other than "I'm with social services, let me take your kids to Christmas party.". There are a quite a few old missing child cases like that. Here is the link to David's case on Charley Project. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/...ett_david.html Notice that the composite of the abductor looks poorly done and kind of unfinished. Most of the old child abduction cases I've looked up where the parents say they let there kids go with a stranger have composites that look like they were done by rank amateurs in the field. |

We discussed this on the Charley Project thread in the All Other Cases forum. It was never on UM. I never heard the part about the formula and the hang-up call, if that is true.
