Good. I could care less because I'm almost outside the demographic and the networks don't care about me anyway. lol They didn't even represent me when I was in the demographic. If the networks want to spend their time trying to get a demographic that could care less about them good luck. lol

You can even tell that's the case because of the ratings. The ratings that are acceptable now wouldn't have been 5 years ago.

The networks would be better off targeting an older demographic, when the younger generation (such as myself) spends the majority of their time online watching YouTube or Netflix.

I'm watching less TV because of bad quality, not because today there are many options like Netflix, Hulu etc., nowadays I usually watch reruns of older shows.

Probably watching shows on Hulu, DVD, iTunes or Netflix now. Cable TV, imo, is dead after all the networks started producing reality shows.

We don't watch the trash on anymore, it's mostly reality now anyway.

Yep I'm with you there, I'm mostly watching classic reruns of GOOD television and/or watching movies on Bluray.

And I also don't do none of that binge watching crap, I'm not a Netflix type of person I don't care what shows are popular are out there right now.

And its funny because when I was younger my parents were saying I was watching too much television, wouldn't they be surprised now.

Do you ever get that strange feeling that you're being watched?

Cable doesn't.

They're watching the same amount of TV but watching it in different ways, many of which are "untraceable" by Nielson standards (mostly streaming/on demand).

It's not like the older generation is immune to the new technology. Plenty of older people use streaming services too. The times are changing, eventually the networks are just going to have to accept it and figure out what to do next.

The Nielsen method of collecting data, where you fill out booklets by hand, needs to be updated to something less cumbersome. They should be able to send you an online link for your area's programming and have you check off your viewing -- or at least have the many area channels filled in and ready.

The last time they sent me booklets, I told them when they said they were coming to please WAIT -- because I was in an unusually busy period. But they sent 'em anyway, and I was unable to fill them out fully and still get them mailed in time. It's time consuming when you're a channel-surfer like me...!

advertisers aren't interested an older demographic since they're easier (and cheaper) to reach

With over 40,000 Episodes, Movies, Serials and Documentaries I've acquired during the last 7 1/2 years won't be watching "Appointment TV" for a VERY LONG TIME!
