Roseanne hate Becky #1 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I just thought about an episode of the Roseanne Talk show where they had the reunion and if I remember correctly Roseanne did not remember the first Becky's name did she dislike Lecy or does she have a bad memory?

Okay this is just speculation, for all we know Roseanne is just a flake who forgets names, but...

Judging by the things I've read about and seen on TV about the behind the scenes goings on during the run of "Roseanne," Roseanne ran a pretty tight ship, and wouldn't think twice about getting rid of people who displeased her and would hold major grudges against anyone who might have slighted her. I would guess that she was really pissed when Lecy Goranson left the show, thinking she had "abandoned" her and the rest of the cast.

What better way for her to get in another dig at her former on-screen daughter thatn to "forget" her name on her talk show?

I heard that Lecy went to College and Roseanne and Lecy tried to work out a way to fit in the show and school but couldn't, when Lecy thought season eight was going to be the last she put college on hold to return to the show but when Roseanne changed her mind and decided to do a ninth season Lecy went back to school as she couldn't leave it for another year.

When Sara Gilbert went to school (she held it off for a year) her schedule wasn't as tight and she could remain on the show.

As far as I know Roseanne was never angry that either girls went to college and from what I have heard encouraged it when certain producers and network executives put the pressure on, however this all sepculation as I have never heard Roseanne discuss this issue ever.

I was just amazed Roseanne couldn't remember Lecy's name when Lecy was on the show for 6 years. Seasons 1-5 and season 8.

I think Roseanne got offended when she accused Tom Arnold of hitting on her.Lecy claims that was the second reason she left in season 5.

I have heard that too (about Tom Arnold hitting on Lecy) but they must have worked things out since Lecy returned in 1995 (just after Roseanne and Tom split) Maybe Lecy just distanced herself from everyone when she left the show the second time, maybe nothing bad happened she just didn't have a close relationship with any of the cast.
