I would like some thoughts about the show tonight soI can understand why "Aunt Bee'was so hateful&argumentative with "Andy"about calling the man in Mt Pilot to fix the stupid freezer or replace it!!!&then she dot mad because he bought a new 1 for her.(was she ever happy?)Was it brcause she knew she wrong &didnt want to admit it?What else? This is 1of the most exasperating episodes.

Aunt Bee definitely rode the emotional roller coaster in that episode.
Her anger was at herself brought on by embarrassment (having made a bad business deal on the meat) and guilt (by jumping ship on Mr. Foley in order to save some money,) but she directed it at Andy and Opie out of frustration. Aunt Bee saw herself as a thrifty and smart shopper, so when her friend Clara talked her into going to the new butcher shop, Aunt Bee thought she was being thrifty by saving Andy's money. However once Andy mentions that the quality of the meat was lower than usual (which he assumed was from Mr. Foley's shop) It was then she saw herself in a corner for having bought so much meat and now having to use the old meat freezer that was on its last legs. She even wanted to take Mr. Foley up on his generous offer by storing her low grade meat in his freezer; which Andy forbid because it wasn't fair to Mr. Foley. Unfortunately, she kept ignoring Andy's advice and grew more and more frustrated. And when Andy bought the new freezer, Aunt Bee, still seeing herself as a thrifty shopper couldn't help mentioning that they could've gotten it cheaper. |

It just seems logical that since Aunt Bee came to live with Andy and Opie at Andy's request in order to take care of Opie and manage the house that Andy would be paying for the food and all other household expenses.
