Question the Peter Marshall / Paul Lynde Hollywood Squares coming to GSN ?

This is a 2 parter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

part one: A while back I read somewhere that hundreds of tapes of the original Hollywood Squares ( with Peter Marshall, Paul Lynde, Rose Marie, ect..) thought to have been destroyed by NBC were
"discovered" recently and will begin airing on Game Show Network beginning with a marathon ( just like they did with Lets Make A Deal ) on tax day, April 15th.

part 2: But the same site reported that tvparty.com said the tapes of the old Squares were destroyed recently because they ( either the owners of the rights to air it or even Marshall himself ) did NOT want them to be reruned on any channel.

I myself didnt see the bit on tv party since they do charge for access but if thats the case, what gives? I remember the Marshall squares and they were very funny and to me much better than the more recent Hollywood Squares so why not show them again on Game Show Network?

which "part" is correct?

They are due to be rerun on GSN beginning April 15 as far as I've heard. I haven't heard anything about the other rumor.

Hopefully, it will be confirmed as to whether or not they will be airing during the "Golden Pyramid Awards" marathon. That's when GSN usually plugs new additions/changes to the lineup.

IMPORTANT NOTE RE: GSF TAPE GIVEAWAY- Due to an email glitch with the form I use on the site, any requests for tapes that were emailed after September 2006 need to be resent in order to have your name on the list. The form should be fixed now. Please only resubmit the form once. The new form system will let you know if an error has occurred.

Yes, it's been confirmed! The classic Hollywood Squares will begin airing on GSN April 15th! Commercials for the show began airing today. It is believed to be the nighttime version of HS, but since a lot of the daytime episodes have been found, I wouldn't count out any of these showing as well. I guess we will have to wait and see until April 15th what episodes air.

Also a cool new "Whammy" commercial began airing, along with a Win, Lose, or Draw commercial, also signifying that game show will be airing on GSN as well, all premiering April 15th! Can't wait for this day to come.

You can see the April 15+ upcoming schedule for GSN at my Game Show Favorites 2002 website here. Remember, though, this schedule is not final and could change without notice.

I'm really looking forward to the new schedule! Can't wait to see HS, and Whammy looks fun. Unfortunately, I won't be home to see W,L, or D in the morning.
