Default Who would you rather go out with Mary Ellen or Julie Foster?

Ok men if you had a choice of which of Wally's hotties you could date which would it be? I dont want to leave the ladies out either so you vote for which one you think was better suited for Wally.

I would definitely have to say Julie Foster. The actress who played her, Cheryl Holdridge, was a stunning looking girl who was very nice & sweet!!! She was an absolute delight to watch & was a wonderful addition to any episode in which she made an appearance. I remember first seeing her in the late 1950's on "The Mickey Mouse Club".

Does anyone have any knowledge as to what Cheryl Holdridge is doing these days? Thanks!

Greg, I couldn't agree more with you. I remember growing up in the 70's (born in the 60's) and watching reruns of the original Mickey Mouse Club every day. I had a HUGE crush on Cheryl. I thought (and this will be blasphemous to some) that she was prettier than Annette.

I would easily choose her over "Mary Ellen".

Having not watched LITB for many years, I always associated Wally with Mary Ellen Rogers, especially since he was married to her in the later series. In the original series, he seems to be with Julie more than he ever was with Mary Ellen. Julie is more bubbly and attractive, but I bet Mary Ellen was the girl he'd take home to Mama...and in TV land, he did.

Talking

I chose Mary Ellen. She was more understanding and better for Wally.

Julie Foster was on the last season of Leave it to Beaver. Mary Ellen Rogers was only talked about, but never seen during the last season.

If Julie's first name were Jodie, she would be my choice.

Between the two choices, definitely Julie Foster. However, if Margie Manners was one of the choices, I would opt for her instead.

Julie was more alluring, enticing, or had more sex appeal than Mary Ellen, but she (Julie) also seems to be the more "high maintenance" type woman, as shown by her being so fickle-- like shunning Wally and going for Wayne Gregory, the new guy with the mustache; and once even going for Lumpy over Wally because Wally wasn't doing everything she wanted and Lumpy dove in hoping her father the English teacher would give him a passing grade because he was going with his daughter. She also was suspicious of Wally when the rumors abounded about him seeing Eddie's girl (modeling a sweater she was making for Eddie).

While Mary Ellen could be a flatterer or manipulator, she wasn't as reactionary as Julie, and overall she was nicer to everyone than Julie seemed to be. I would take that over physical beauty any time.

If you know about Gilligan's Island and the old question there: "Ginger or Mary Ann?", maybe 'Julie or Mary Ellen?' is a more down-to-earth such question. Many guys say they would "date Ginger, but marry Mary Ann." So maybe Wally was smarter than we think, dating Julie more often (the last 3 years anyway), and later marrying Mary Ellen.

I'm sorry, but I like Mary-Ellen better. Julie I think was a little too happy even for Mayfield. She got on my nerves sometimes. I felt calmer when I was watching Mary-Ellen, she seemed more down-to-earth. I am a member of the LITBMailList@topica.com and some of the women there like Mary-Ellen better too. Plus I gotta support my fellow brunettes!
P.S. (I am not trying to be mean; they were both very nice and pretty, I just prefer Mary-Ellen over Julie because she also seemed better for Wally in my opinion.)
