Default The Wedding Episode

Yeah, I have to agree this is the best episode of the entire series. I'm sure a lot of people would.

The location shots and the way how in the days leading up to the wedding it shows the date and time....those were truly innovative moments in sitcom history.

It was definitely a landmark in television. The question I wonder is did so many people know before they tuned in that this was going to be something special? They must have known they would be watching a wedding and they were happy for Rhoda, but were they expecting the excellent location shots and the innovative ideas, like showing the dates? This had to be one of those rare cases where a TV event not only lived up to the hype, but perhaps even exceeded it.

I want to see the CBS version one day but I never will because it felt like something was uncut on the DVD

Season 1 of Rhoda on DVD is in pitiful condition. Mostly syndicated episodes in poor visual quality...yuck.

Unfortunately even though Seasons 2 through 4 are in good viewing quality it seems many episodes are edited.

I don't get it....if it has nothing to do with music clearances or copyright violations, why can't they put out the full uncut original episodes on DVD?

That scene I am referring to in the closing credits was not part of the episode so it looks like it was never included. She was running and behind her it's a building with a 125 address and a bunch of people are walking watching her run down the street. In the episode there is a scene with her running with people walking behind her.

1st outdoor scene......her trying to get a taxi in Times Square

2nd running scene.....her getting on the Subway

3rd outdoor scene.........her running up all those steps

last outdoor scene........her running across a big street and finally making it to the building the wedding was held.

So that scene in the closing credits was never seen in the episode which is why I thought it was cut in syndication

Someone posted a link to the original broadcast, with commercials! Can't find the post now, but I do have the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQw9...ature=youtu.be

They said "hurry before the copyright police take it down", or something to that effect.. but that was posted two years ago and the link is still up.

I'm going to watch this when I have dinner tonight, it's so neat when there are the original commercials, it really adds flavor to the experience.

This is from way back when your only option was to sit there and watch the episode - no pausing, rewinding to rewatch a scene, or DVR'ing to watch later . . . that added to the magic, and made it all special.

It's still there! It's been up for a few years, so I think you should be fine.

I download the videos when they're especially memorable. I downloaded this, and I'll transfer it to DVD and put it in the same binder with my DVDs of all seasons of Rhoda.
