Talking Cybill vs. Christine...

Who was the better actress and which of them deserved an Emmy more?

In both cases, I must go with Christine. Granted, Cybill deserved an Emmy as well, but I think the character of Maryann was just so well constructed and unique, and Christine Baranski just made it more unique.]

Yes! Christine DID deserve her Emmy!!! Cybill should have gotten one too! But Christine was the BEST ..NO ONE COULD TOP HER PERFORMANCES!!!!!!!!

I also enjoyed the performance of Alicia Witt, 'Zoey!' Her and Maryanne were a riot!

You're right -- and Maryann was at her best when she was either drunk or STALKING!

OOOH! I loved her stalking!!!

My favorite quote that sums up her stalking..

"My muse. My sweet shiny muse." ~Ira
"Wow. I've never been dumped so beautifully before. I don't even think I'll stalk you." ~Maryanne
"Well, that's my loss. I've seen your work and uh, you're the best." ~Ira
"Aaaw, you. Now get out of here before I saw halfway through your break cable." ~Maryanne

SHE IS THE BEST!!!

No atgument here -- she is the best! But I don't know what my favorite stalking quote is -- there are SOOOO many! A few days ago, though, she was going on her first date in 25 years and was going crazy asking Cybill what she should do. "...and then we'll break up....and then I'll have to start STALKING him!" she said. That was pretty good!

That ep was called "Starting Off On the Wrong Foot!"

I loved the part where she agreed to go out on the date and then she was in her closet saying, "I haven't a thing to wear!"

That closet was huge!!!! I mean, it was bigger than my bedroom!

I also like the ending where she goes to apologize to that man only to find that he's wearing her shoes.

Maryanne: Those are the Tuesday shoes. I know that because I bought them on Tuesday. Give me the shoes...Give ME the shoes.

Cybill: You better give her the shoes.

Maryanne:[ I WANT THE SHOES NOW!!!!

Haha! That cracks me up!

That was great -- seriously, who has a closet like that?! Obviously, that's what made it so funny!

Yes! And then she was going through her clothes.

Cybill: Red.
Maryanne: He'll think I'm a slut!
Cybill: White.
Maranne: Virgin.
Cybill: Black.
Maranne: Dead.
Cybill: Yellow.
Maryanne: Chicken.

Hahaha!!!

Christine was always a much strongest actress on Cybill, and funnier. However, I did notice many times that Christine was given very weak and bland material to work with...and this was probably late in the show's run...

i've been watching the show on Oxygen for the first time and I've noticed the Christine Baranski and Alicia Witt are way better than everyone else.

they just seem to be able to pull the jokes off better.
like Ira and Cybill seem to laugh or come off looking corny when trying to make a joke
