Default Season 1 to be Re-released Sept 30

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Don...Season-1/20116

For those who missed the 2008 Virgil Films release, MPI is re-releasing S1 with much nicer cover art that matches Seasons 4 and 5 and hopefully the episodes will look nicer too.

Since I don't own the original OOP version, I'm really looking forward to buying this. I hope seasons 2 and 3 re-releases quickly follow.

You are actually better off having waited as MPI is going to remaster the episodes and the cover art and cases will be uniform unlike the 3 volumes from Virgil. I will be double-dipping on all of them.

Any chance that seasons 6-8 will ever be released ?

I'd love to have the entire series

Until Sony decides to actually convert the 35mm prints of Seasons 6-8 to digital format, a DVD release won't happen, nor further syndication such as on Me-TV. The ball is in Sony's court.

I have 2 Season 8 episodes ("Four on the Floor" & "No More Parties") on a DVD that came in a box of cereal back when General Mills was promoting its cereals in conjunction with Sony. Sony also included DVDs of other shows like Barney Miller in other cereal boxes. I let someone else have the cereal, as I had just bought it for the DVD.

One person has posted a review on Amazon. Unfortunately, two episodes on the set are edited versions. I am still getting it, though. I already own the 2008 release.

Bonus stuff includes original opening and closings, the biggest thing is This Is Your Life with Donna Reed as the surprised guest which includes original commercials too
Shelley Fabares talking about her role as Mary Stone
So happy I picked it up and will get the next two re-releases too no doubt!

Double-dipped on this one. The bonuses caught my attention. Loved the detailed Shelley Fabares interview talking about the show. I'll assume a solo interview with Paul Petersen is next.

A show worth double dipping.
I watched the first episode last night. Glad the ending credit wasn't abruptly cut off like the virgil releases. I can't compare the episode back2back at the moment but the print looks about the same.
