I am so happy to see "The Lars Affair" take top honors. That is one of the best episodes of the series, and the scene where Phyllis slams the oven shut and Sue Ann uses her knee to close the door is classic. Season 4 is where the series really starts to shine and takes on a life of its own. Looking forward to next week already!

I agree that "The Lars Affair" was the best ep of this season, and the scene in which Phyllis ruins the souffle and Sue Ann knees the oven door shut is a classic!
In my humble opinion, this might be the most laugh-filled season in sitcom history. In addition to "The Lars Affair", some other eps I loved: "Better Late ... That's a Pun ... Than Never" (Ted reading the Wee Willie Williams obit); "Two Wrongs Don't Make A Writer" (Ted plagiarizing Mary's story); and "Best of Enemies" (I remember seriously being worried that Mary and Rhoda weren't going to be friends anymore). And of course, the party eps, "Lou's First Date" (the aforementioned Mrs. Martha Dudley, flower girl at Thomas Alva Edison's wedding) and The Dinner Party (not only Veal Prince Orloff, but Henry Winkler!) |
