Hey guys,
Sandra Bullock isn't the only actress that's turning 50 this month, another actress also turns the Big 5-0 today Lori Anne Loughlin Born in Queens, NY and standing 5'6" Lori Loughlin is an actress of comedy and drama She began her career at age 12 as a print model. During her early teen years she appeared in television commercials, and was frequently seen in national print ads like the Sears catalog and Bradlees weekly flyers. In 1979, she received her first recognizable national television exposure playing a cheerleader with a cast on her leg in a Tab Cola commercial She was 15 when she starred on the Procter & Gamble Soap Opera The Edge of Night playing the part of Jody Travis, an aspiring dancer and she also appeared as a spokesperson for Mead Tablets In 1983, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress in the Daytime Series" for her role in The Edge of Night She appeared in movies including Back to the Beach Starring Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Connie Stevens and Paul Reubens as Pee Wee Herman She's Guest Starred in TV Dramas like Matt Houston, The Equalizer, Justice League Unlimited, 1-800 Missing and the Fantasy Drama Ghost Whisperer w/Jennifer Love Hewitt and has Guest Starred in TV Sitcoms like My Three Sons, Suddenly Susan, Seinfeld, Spin City and The Drew Carey Show She's also starred in Made For TV Movies such as Empty Cradle w/Kate Jackson, In the Line of Duty: Blaze of Glory as Jill Erickson, Tell Me No Secrets as Jess Koster and Casper: A Spirited Beginning playing the role of a No-Nonsense Librarian Sheila Fistergraff She's also appeared in 2 Episodes for CBS Schoolbreak Special "Babies Having Babies" in which she won a "Michael Landon Award" in the Young Artist Awards and "No Means No" in which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Performer in a Children's Special" She has also starred in the WB Drama Summerland, a series she created and produced w/the late Aaron Spelling The series won her a PRISM Award "Best Performance in a Drama Series Storyline" and for 5 seasons from 2008-2013, Lori plays the role Debbie Wilson on The CW Version of 90210, the spin-off of The Original Beverly Hills 90210 that aired on Fox from 1990-2000 and she starred in the short-lived abc sitcom Hudson Street Starring Tony Danza (who also produced the series under his own production company Katie Face Productions) She played the role of Crime Reporter Melanie Clifford The series received good reviews and initially placed in the top 10 (partly due to its placement between the abc hits Roseanne and Home Improvement), but the series was canceled after one season as it couldn't hold on to its lead-in audience, mainly due to moving to Saturday Nights and Lori left the show half-way to the season But she is best known for her role as The Tanner Girls' Serious No-Nonsense Aunt Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis on the hit abc family series Full House Her character went from recurring to regular as Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse married on the show and this would be her most notable role to date When she Guest Starred in Season 2 of the series, she was originally only contracted for six episodes of "Full House" but after positive audience reaction, she was given a full-time role. The initial storyline for her was to be just Danny's co-host and go on one date with him, realizing they would never work out in a dating relationship and have their relationship remain just professional. However, when she became a full-time character, they created a storyline where she would fall in love with Jesse and eventually marry him. During her recurring role in Season 2, Full House pulled big ratings from #70 to the Top 40 landing @ #32 and when she joined the cast of Full House, the series would become a Top 30 Hit for the last 6 Seasons It was Top 20 for 4 consecutive seasons from Seasons 4-7 and when the show moved to Tuesday Nights during the 5th Season, it became a Top 10 Hit for 2 consecutive seasons, but Season 5 was their highest peak when it peaked @ #7 In 1995, despite the fact the show was still rated in the Top 25, abc announced that it was canceling the show after the 8th season due to the increasing production costs. Their were also sources that The new WB network wanted to pick up the show for a 9th season, but John Stamos announced that the 8th season would be his last (he was mainly upset about Full House defecting from one of the "Big Four" networks to a network which had not yet received full national distribution). Eventually, the other actors announced they were also ready to move on to other projects, thus ending the show's 8-year run. The 1-hour finale was watched by 24.3 million viewers, ranking #7 for the week and attracting a 14.6 household rating and a 25% audience share Full House was also nominated for a TV Land Award for "Best Quintessential Non-Traditional Family" Lori is still staying active and she is still going strong and she is currently starring in the Cable Television Drama When Calls the Heart for The Hallmark Channel (formally known as the ACTS Television Network) playing the role of coal mine widow Abigail Stanton The series is developed by Michael Landon, Jr. Lori now resides in Los Angeles with her current husband Mossimo Giannulli who is the creator of the popular "Mossimo" clothing line and they also have 2 children She also remains close friends with her "Full House" Co-Stars John Stamos, Bob Saget, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, Andrea Barber who played Kimmie Gibbler on the show, Scott Weinger who played DJ's Boyfriend Steve Hale and of course, Dave Coulier She also appeared in cameo roles in Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen's movies including To Grandmother's House We Go playing the role of a Game Show Hostess Here are her personal quotes: "At first it was awkward having to be romantic with him because of our past relationship in real life, but when I realized that it was professional and we were just acting, it made it a little bit easier not getting caught up in the moment." - about playing the love interest of John Stamos on "Full House" after having a real life relationship with him. "It was quite an adjustment to me. Before "Full House" my roles were mostly serious soap opera parts playing evil characters. Now I was a squeaky clean morning show host from Nebraska on a TGIF sitcom." When you don't work for awhile, immediately you get a little black mark next to your name. You have to make difficult choices in your life, and you just have to be happy with them. - on taking her first leading role in "Summerland" since the 1995 end of "Full House". It used to be such a big deal when someone would turn fifty, as if it is supposed to be some horrific old age. It's not. Fifty has really become the new thirty, so it's really not surprising that Lori still looks terrific.
