I haven't posted in awhile but did want to note that on this week's Swamp Murders (on ID TV) they are profiling the case of Beverly McGowan. She's the woman whose torso was found in the Everglades.
This episode is scheduled for Tuesday 9:00 -10:00 pm (ET) on the ID channel. I know this case interested a lot of people and sometimes new information or rather information that wasn't presented in the UM segment surfaces. jeeps |

Hi Jeepers Creepers! :P
I saw this advertised last night on the ID channel when I was visiting a friend in Reno. Made me think about the UM segment with Parent and Bev. This show, Swamp Murders, should be interesting. Out here it said its on Tuesday, then Weds, and Saturday. They have all the times listed on their ID website. I wonder if they are going to give us any new info. The title is called "The Chameleon Killer" and I saw the last 20 minutes of a 1 hour crime show maybe 7 years ago on Court TV. I think it had the same name or it was called the hunt for the chameleon killer. For most of the show it had a psychiatrist talking about Bev's murder Eileen Parent (sp?). It said she dressed up as the "SAM" character that was also wanted from UM long ago. on UM the travel lady said "SAM" looked like a man pretending to be dressed up as a woman! However the detective show I saw around 2007 said it was Parent herself as one of her disguises. I think looking at Bev's old photos that Parent was pretending to be Bev obviously when trying to purchase a ticket from that travel company. UM made it seem like she had a male accomplice lol. But back then nobody knew. I wonder why that travel lady thought Parent was a man maybe Parent was trying too hard to hide her voice and just came across as male sounding when pretending to be Bev. Parent sure fooled a lot of people. In that documentary it said Parent when living in florida or texas had rented a room out of a house in a nice neighborhood and would always be seen walking her dog (or her landlord's dog) yet she never talked to any neighbors walking by and that kind of stood out for some people. The segment said her case was profiled on UM and later on Americas Most Wanted. I usually watched AMW long ago but must have missed that show on Beverly. I never knew it was on AMW. Did you? |

another thing that Stack and detectives said was why would a person like Parent kill someone for only $1000. I cant remember if it was $1000 or less. Anyways I was surprised that they didn't think about identity theft. Back then identity theft wasn't as big as today but still happened. After Parent got Bev's social security number, passport number, and credit card number she could later use that to apply for new credit cards thus getting more money than what UM said. She could apply for a home loan too. So its not just a small amount that she killed Bev over. Maybe initially though in the long run I believe Parent wanted more money from Bev. Some said she also killed other women maybe in USA or England.
