Default Damm Hubert choose DEATH over going back to the rest home???

Damm was the rest home that bad that he rather have died than stayed alive? He was getting sad that he had not died yet and was like......."well I guess I have to go back to the rest home

I've heard of people dying and being revived by a doctor.
