"New Girl" Scoop: Jessica Biel Cast as Jess' New Nemesis

Jessica Biel is (briefly) returning to her TV roots this fall via a guest stint on "New Girl", TVLine has learned.

The "7th Heaven" alum will appear in the Fox comedy’s Season 4 premiere as Kat, the hottest scientist in the world who ends up competing with Zooey Deschanel’s Jess over a cute guy.

The setup of the Sept. 16 opener: The gang challenges each other to see who can get lucky at the last wedding of the season. The guy Jess sets her sights is the same dude Kat is eyeing.

"New Girl" First Look: Jess Goes Toe-to-Toe with Jessica Biel

Jess will have some fierce competition when "New Girl" returns for its fourth season.

As the group assembles for the final wedding of the summer season, the guys encourage Jess to find a wedding guest to sleep with and she ends up setting her sights on "Veep’s" Reid Scott—but so does a sexy scientist played by Jessica Biel.

“Jess decides to go after the best man and she’s nervous about it because he’s the wedding celebrity,” executive producer Liz Meriwether tells EW.

“She’s, in her weird way, doing pretty well with him and then Jessica Biel comes on the scene and starts to also hit on him. It’s the two of them competing over this guy and Jess doesn’t have a lot of moves.”
