Default Favorite Segments of Each Categories

What are your favorite segments of each category? I'll give you two choices I know this will be hard for some of you to choose! These are the episodes that you can watch over and over again

UFO's: The Allegash abductions. This episode never gets old. I'm picturing those freaky alien drawings right now. Come to think of it, there are some rather good artists in that group of men don't you think?

Ghosts: A tie between the neighbor ghost Gordy and Con and the Kelsey house where they saw the ghost named Samuel that appeared in a picture. I find both episodes rather spooky

Murder: Terresita Basa, I love the conclusion! Second choice would be the Dorothy Donovan episode. Have they still not had any updates in this bizarre case?

Wanted: Jim Burnside because the murder of his wife was so brutal. Also I have to admit, when I was little I thought Jim Burnside and Gregg Webb from the bad cheif segment were the same guy! I was all like, "why does this guy keep murdering people!?!?" Second choice goes to Dennis Depue because well...what an a-hole.

Lost Loves: The man who was injured in a motorcycle accident and was pulled out of a flooded ditch by an anonymous woman. Forget their names. Bridgetta, the little girl who lived in a boxcar and the soldier Phillip who took her to a Christmas party. I tear up every time! This episode was actually on the other day and I realized that every time I see it, I enjoy it more!

Unexplained death: Dave Bocks. That plant where he worked and died and eventually shut down was minutes away from where I grew up. Monica Rizzo, but is her death really unexplained? I mean we all know her husband did it.

Missing Persons: Heather Relf was a good one. There was a little girl that lived next to my Grandma that looked exactly like her. I thought about calling a bunch of times but decided against it. Yep it definitely wasn't her! And of course my second choice is the infamous Angela Hammond.

Treasure: None. Seriously. Does anyone like these segments? Lol, but in all seriousness I guess I'd have to say Dutch Schultz treasure and the Marcos Buddha treasure, just because I feel so bad for that guy.

Legends: D.B. Cooper. Who I am pretty sure is dead, and the death of Elvis. I really liked Elvis's step brother in the segment.

Psychic: Not sure of the name of this one but a psychic was put on a case that involved a young woman who was murdered by a guy while she was delivering a pizza to an unknown address. For whatever reason, the psychic comes off as pretty believable. I also always loved the Nancy Myer segment.

Science: Gelatinous Goo because of that one quote and not as much anymore but when I was young I loved the spontaneous human combustion one! Seeing the old guy go up in flames in the reenactment gave me nightmares for weeks!

Miracles: Lucky school. About a year ago had an itch to watch this one and I swear to God that the very next day after I watched it, the Sandy Hook shooting happened. Not even joking. On a lighter note, I also am quite fond of the Angels episode. That cute old woman who saw the ridiculous looking special effects angel in front of the ice cream truck makes me smile every time.

Fraud: Liz Carmichael because it's full of laughs. I mean how could they not know she was a man!? Second choice Gertrude Pruitt. She didn't look so sweet to me.

The unexplained: Mothman, cheesy as heck but still freaks me out. I have been over that bridge before (the one they rebuilt) and it sends shivers up my spine. And the Ogopogo. It's not a river otter I swear .

Let me know if I missed any categories and add your faves!

EDIT: OOPS, I just noted OP asked us to choose between the segments they nominated, rather than nominating our own!

Good question, I'll give some of your categories a go. If I skip any, its because I either don't have a clear favourite segment (murder) or have no interest in those segments (lost loves, psychics, treasure)

UFO's - The Valentich disapperance. Aside from being the only case set in my home country in UM's history, its probably the most genuinely unsettling of all the UFO cases (and I'm not a believer)

Ghost: the one about the fat guy in Florida with his 16 year old bride - just endless LOLs The one about the woman who saw the naked apparition on a Canandian highway (leading authorities to a car crash) also sticks in the mind.

Wanted: Edward Harold Bell and Bonnie Wilder - Talk about two extremes: one terrifying and tragic, the other just

Unexplained Death: Did the Circleville letters fall under this? otherwise, Aileen Conway, for sure.

Missing person: AJ Breux and certainly Angela Hammond would be the two that stick out.

Legends and Science: I agree with your nominations.

The unexplained: missing time.

A category you could add is Final Appeal - I'll go with Jeffrey MacDonald, not because I like UM's treatment of the case (he's obviously guilty IMO), but I am fascinated by it.

Eeep! Just noticed I replied wrong as well. Don't mind my nominations/post!!

UFO: Betty Cash and Vickie Landrum Experience/Incident

Murder: Chaim Weiss, Rachael Runyan (short segment but it would be wonderful if someone was convicted)

Disappearance: Amy Bechtel, Jodi Huisentruit (runner up is Tammy Lynn Leppert)

Fraud: Liz Carmichael, Bonnie Wilder (she also may be in the robbery/wanted categories)

The Unexplained: Do The Whackers fall in here?

Unexplained Death: Katherine Korzilius, The Boys On the Track

Wanted: William Bradford Bishop

Robbery: The grocery store robberies...just because I loved how the "nicer" criminal put loafs of bread under the peoples' heads when they were forced to lay on the ground with their hands tied up

Ghosts: Gettysburg. Mainly because a) it's pretty understandable/believable; b) I liked the story about the two women who worked on the admissions committee at Gettysburg College going down the elevator, getting off at the basement (when they hadn't selected that floor), and seeing Civil War soldiers in a makeshift hospital starring at them and pleading them to help. That itself was creepy, but I also thought it was creepier that UM had to relay the story via the security guard's account of it (since he was the outcry witness afterward--but I don't think UM even showed him) since the women won't talk about their experience besides when they reported it that night.

I'm happy to inform you this case has been solved. The murderer was convicted several years ago and apparently he did stumble on the house by accident (it was one of few around) and said he killed her because she confronted him upon breaking in. The palm print proved it was him.

Wanted: I have so many favorite Wanted segments, but I think if I had to pick one I'd probably go with Dub Wackerhagen.

Lost Loves: I would have to go with either Jim Meade searching for 1LT Karen Stephens or James Vernon searching for Libby. Laurence Harding Jr. is another favorite of mine, but unfortunately, unlike the other two, that case hasn't been solved.

Sci-Med: The Santos family.

Missing Persons: Christi Jo Nichols and A.J. Breaux.

Unexplained Death: Kevin Ives/Don Henry and Bobbi Oberholtzer/Annettee Schnee.

The Investigators: NH serial killer, aka the Connecticut River Valley Killer.

The Unexplained: Missing Time.

Fraud: Ed Barbara, Barbara Helga King (honorable mention Arthur Frankford).

Final Appeal: Paul Ferrell for 'Final Appeal' proper, Dr. John Branion for Final Appeal segment.

UFO's: Betty Cash / Vickie Landrum / Colby Landrum because this is one that I totally believe happened, while some others I'm not so sure about, and then there are the annoying outright frauds like the Gulf Breeze UFO story.

Ghosts: So many good ones to choose from if this is your kind of thing. I believe something supernatural probably happened to the Wyrick family and Paige Roark's mom's and grandma's stories sounded believable to me. But my favorite one to watch is probably the Teresita Basa segment. IMO tho, a lot of the stories featured on UM and elsewhere, like the Lizzie Borden House, the Blue Lady at the Moss Beach Distillery are just stories to draw in tourists.

Murder: I probably watch Chaim Weiss, Su Taraskiewicz, Jon and Linda Sohus, Ethel Kidd, Shannon Mohr Davis, and Larry Dicken's segments the most. I bought the books about the Don Henry/Kevin Ives train deaths, Kaitlyn Arquette, Lisa Marie Kimmell, Colleen Reed (Kenneth McDuff), Amber Swartz/Nikki Campbell/Michaela Garect/Ilene Misheloff/Angela Bugay (Tim Bindner)

Wanted: The ATV murders in Tennessee. What a scary segment. Elizabeth Fuentes Ortiz. I used to watch the Joseph Prushinowski segment a lot. That was back when I thought that a person claiming to be religious meant they actually had morals, so it was a shocking case to me at the time. Now I'm jaded.

Lost Loves: Rogest Cain. I always felt that this one could be solved but it never was. LaDonna Alfano finding her extended family after losing her mother and siblings was an interesting segment.

Unexplained death: Blair Adams. Aileen Conway. Leroy Drieth. Keith Warren. I used to watch the Arnold Archambeau and Ruby Bruguier segment a lot, although I think their deaths are pretty easily explained.

Missing Persons: Cindy Anderson, Gordon Paige, Jodi Huisentruit, Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman

Treasure: The only one I can even remember is Victorio Peak with Doc and Babe Noss and the allegations of the government sneaking in there and taking the treasure.

Legends: Chupacabras. I just love how the locals (a mayor and a veterinarian?) could only explain the animal deaths as being caused some kind of supernatural creature. It's so weird when educated people completely leave out science and go straight to the craziest theory possible.

Psychic: Dorothy Allison seemed to be one of the most believable psychics, imo.

Science: Spontaneous Human Combustion. I always wanted this to be a real thing that would finally be explained by discovering something about energy created by the human body going wonky but now I just think it's a combination of a drunk/drugged/dementia sufferer and cigarettes. In every single confirmed case I've ever read about the person was a smoker and was either drunk, on drugs, incapacitated, or suffering dementia problems. I don't believe the lady on UM who said she was doing none of these things when the back of her shirt started smoking and the ignition source was her own skin.

Miracles: All the lazy choir members who delayed going to church and so survived the explosion that destroyed the building.

Fraud: Todd Mueller, mostly because I love that alias Pepito D'Bayan. lol Dan Tondevold. And the infamous Bonnie Wilder.

The unexplained: Don Decker, who could make it rain indoors, in any direction, defying gravity, and even convinced his friends, their landlord, and the police, but he didn't convince me.

The Valentich disappearance isn't really all that mysterious. He was an inexperienced pilot who misidentified Venus, got distracted and crashed. Wreckage was spotted in the area, but couldn't be recovered before it sank.
