Today I was watching UM and the episode came on of the man in Mexico that had a taco stand. An American teacher was one of his favorite customers. She told him he should start his own restaurant and when she left Mexico she gave him an envelope with five hundred dollars in it. He was on UM looking for the woman so that he could thank her because he had taken the money and made two very successful restaurants.
I decided to look them up online and see if they were still going (Such Is Life, Phoenix) This is what I found: http://www.gayot.com/restaurants/suc..._14px0056.html http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2013-...es-to-phoenix/ |

For me, however, the biggest "mystery" here is why, when Judy (whose last name, according to information from the old UM website, was later determined NOT to be Anderson) called UM, she asked not to be identified, or even to have her whereabouts disclosed. That would be understandable if she was calling with information regarding the identity and/or whereabouts of a dangerous criminal, but for a happy ending to a lost love story, it seems strange. |

It could be something as simple as she preferred her act of kindness to be relatively anonymous or she didn't want any press attention after the episode aired. She also could have been worried about other people bugging her for startup money. Or, maybe she was meeting a lover in Mexico and didn't want people to know. My personal theory, though, is that Judy was in fact one of Christian Gerhartsreiter aliases/identities. Sorry, couldn't resist. |

I don't know if anyone read the second article to the end but it says that Moises is wanting to be a partner with the people that have the restaurant now and wants them to be able to use the original name...so he's down but not entirely out.
"In a somewhat odd turn of events, Rodriguez says, Treves has been back to Así es la Vida recently, bringing in a scrapbook of memories, letters, and photos of his dream, now decades old, to share with others. He's asked Rodriguez if he'd like the old name back, and if he might be interested in a partner." |
