Default Did anyone see Vivian on Entertainment Tonight?

HI Everyone, i checked my tv guide listings for vivians appearance on entertainment tonite and it said it was from 12AM-1AM. I set my timer on my vcr for it, and it didnt start till 12:30AM! My vcr stopped recording at 1, and i think it stopped right before vivians interview! Im so mad, i cant believe this had to happen. For those of you who saw it... did her interview come on last? Do you think they will air it again?
thanks!

Yes. It was dead last. I think they will repeat it. They have aired the Keith Thibodeaux episode 3 times.

Yes I saw it and it was wonderful seeing her! I couldn't believe how well she looked in her interview with Mike Douglas, so much so that I was shocked to hear it was from 1970. I thought she looked better and younger than she did on the later years of ILL! I really believe the short curly hair suited her better than the longer curls like she had the last season of ILL and into the Desi-Lucy Comedy Hours, which I thought made her look more youthful.

I loved the story about the pie, and now I will have to keep an eye out for her getting hit with the pie when I watch ILL at night. I thought she was referring to the Diner episode when both couples buy that diner and then end up hitting each other with pies as a result of the drunk client, but I looked and the drunk character does take his hand from in back of the pie as he hits her with it. Can anyone think of other episodes where Ethel gets hit with a pie in her face that she may have been referring to?

In any case, it was great to see parts of the interview with her, which I'd never seen before. Does anyone know if the interview can be obtained in its entirety from somewhere? Also, does anyone know if this particular ET with Vivian Vance was a rerun?

Thanks in advance to any answerers of my questions!

The reason why you don;t see it in The Diner was because that incident took place during the rehersals.

The way I interpreted it, Vivian was talking about the extra holding back with the pie during rehearsals, and so she talked to him and advised him not to hold back etc., and then for the tape he ended up going full force and not removing his hand from in back of the pie. She also made some reference to them having to take the sound out of the soundtrack before the show. Unless they also recorded sound effects for the actual show during rehearsal, I don't think this could have happened during rehearsal.

Also, I gather that the cast would have probably been able to stop the scene if it was a rehearsal, rather than continue on like she described. I think she followed through on the scene because it was being taped, else I don't think she would have practically gotten her face cracked and not stopped to breath for a moment if there were no cameras, no audience, and the rest of the cast depending on her to follow through so the scene could be finished...

Are there any other episodes in which an extra character throws a pie at Ethel? I only thought of The Diner because I'd seen it in the past week.

I thought the interview was really funny. I also liked seeing the picture of Vivian as a child. She was so cute! I hope that you are right about the episodes being repeated, because I missed Desi's last month! Did anyone see it?

I did see the Desi episode last month, in fact i taped it. It was pretty interesting, he was showing off some family photos and he also talked about what it was like to watch some of the reruns. I missed the Vivian episode though, i was pretty mad about that!
