Default Is there a thread for Flipper???

I think it was on for more than one season? I thought it was a popular show back in the early 60's? Haven't seen a thread on it. Haven't seen Lassie either?

I been really getting into Flipper lately! They show it on Antenna TV, Saturday and Sundays!

I don't think Flipper is considered a sitcom. (even though I think of it as one!)

That is what I was thinking. Maybe not a comedy. More of a drama. But I don't see it listed in the Classic dramas either!

Maybe Flipper, Lassie, Gentle Ben, and Daktari should all be together under a category titled Animal Series.

Yeah there really should be an Animal series category ! Animal stars were very big back in those days! Another one was Rin Tin Tin. My fav is Flipper though. He is adorable and so smart!!!

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!

Everyone loves the king of the sea,
Ever so kind and gentle is he,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
And how they laugh when he's near!

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!

I would have thought they would be in Adventure or Dramedy

Brian Kelly who played the father on Flipper was a very handsome man!!!

Also, I've been watching Lassie! Cozi TV has it on weekdays at 7:30, well like three days a week, for some reason it isn't on sometimes. Lassie is such a sweet dog, a nice heartwarming show!

Still haven't found any official threads on here for Flipper or Lassie!

Animal lovers will have to be content with the Mister Ed forum here. Wiiiiiilllbuur!

Flipper is an interesting show -- I had never seen it much. I used to see Gentle Ben all the time (Clint Howard, Dennis Weaver).

I think I've seen all of the Lassie episodes with Jeff and Timmy. I have a long way to go, though, with the post-Timmy era. It was nice to see Paul Petersen (The Donna Reed Show) in one of the color episodes. Great that he was able to stay busy. I think he did it before his My Three Sons spot -- his hair wasn't quite as long yet. Also, I saw the episode with Barbara Hale, best known as Della on Perry Mason...!

You should check the Flipper show out! It actually has some good stories to it, and not a comedy per se , but it does have some humorous moments. The youngest son is funny! They show it on Antenna TV Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 PM ( that is PST time) !

With Lassie, as I posted before, they don't show it every night I saw two eps with Jeff (loved them) than for some reason a few days later they showed a later color ep. with no Jeff or Timmy! I I'm with you on that. I like the eps with Jeff and Timmy much better than the newer ones!

Jeff looks like a younger Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers, like he could be his little brother!

I have never seen Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, but I just googled it, and it sounds cute! Wish they would bring it back.

I remember watching that show on Saturday mornings in the late 60's.

Thanks to the magic of cable, I've been able to watch Flipper for the last couple of months. I was a little too young for this show when it was on, so I had never seen it before.

It's a great show! Yes, it's hokey and cheesy, but it's a charming little show. I've been enjoying it.

Yes it is a charming show! Lassie too. That's even older and hokier but very heartwarming!

I like Lassie too! The scenery isn't as pretty as the scenery on Flipper, but it's got the same type of vibe as the Flipper show.

I love the scenery on Flipper. How cool would it be to be a kid and have your dad have that job! Live right on the water in Florida and have a friendly dolphin as your pet! I don't think it ever shows those kids going to school. Always in swim trunks being very carefree!

Lassie is really old. The eps with Jeff that they are showing now seem really old. Like older than I love Lucy and The Honeymooners. Maybe because it's a drama it seems older? I love the farm (they always show the chickens outside the kitchen door) , the old telephone they have, the grand father and of course Lassie!
