Default An earring on Nick Russo's left ear?

I couldn't help but notice that Blossom's father, Nick Russo, has an earring on his left earlobe. I first looked at it (the earring) at the end of the "Rockumentary" episode. Why would Nick Russo wear an earring?

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

It was the 90's, but yeah, Nick having an earring was no big deal.

"No big deal"? What kind of TV dad wears an earring? I have never seen a TV dad wear an earring. (These were my initial thoughts when I started this thread.)

It was a sign that times were changing for sitcoms, he was a musician so it made sense for him to be hip and sport an earring at least he wasn't square as Danny Tanner from Full House.

I'm sorry if I thought Nick Russo's earring was weird when I started this thread.

I thought the earring looked dumb on Nick. It just didn't work for him in my opinion.

This is from the end of the episode "Such a Night", where Six complimented Nick Russo on his earring.

(Knock on door)
Blossom: Yeah?
Nick: (Opens door) You guys have any pizza left?
Blossom: All gone.
Nick: Time to start that diet, anyway. I may as well turn in. I just wanted to say good night.
Blossom: Good night, Dad.
Six: Night, Mr. Russo. Love your earring.
Nick: Thank you. Don’t stay up too late, huh? Night. (closes door)
Blossom: “I love your earring”?
Six: What?
Blossom: “You look particularly lovely today, Mrs. Cleaver.”
Six: Oh, stop.
Blossom: Come on, we might as well turn in too.
Six: Mall tomorrow?
Blossom: Only if the sun comes up.
Six: Well, I had a good time tonight
Blossom: Yeah, me, too. (turns off lamp) Good night.
Six: Good night.

"Blossom" was supposed to be a edgier kind of family sitcom, kind of like "Roseanne". So it makes sense that Nick Russo wouldn't always be a conventional TV dad.
