Favorite Season? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What was everyone's favorite season? Now that I've had a chance to watch most of the episodes from every season, I can narrow it down to my favorite season. While I truly like all the seasons, I would have to say my favorite is Season 2. The cast is still pretty young and yet they really seem to click as a family. There are lots of growing pains with Abby joining the family and some tears too as they remember Joan. Overall, a great season.

Season 1 - the original season with Diana Hyland playing Joan. The kids are pretty young too. Episodes include Quarantine and the pilot which includes Mark Hamill. We also get our first glimpse of Auntie V and Susan goes skydiving.

Season 2 - Abby (Betty Buckley) joins the show in the second episode. Episodes include Joanie doing a play in the nude, Tom and Abby getting married, the infamous Christmas episode, Nancy entering a beauty contest, Tommy getting drunk and Elizabeth wanting to go on the pill.

Season 3 - Abby is starting to feel like more a part of the family now. Episodes include the infamous food fight, the Thanksgiving episode, Abby thinking she's pregnant, the kids throwing a huge part while Tom and Abby are away and Nicholas running away to San Diego.

Season 4 - David & Janet and Susan & Merle get married, Tom turns 50, Mary dates a married man - Joanie, Susan and Nancy move out, Abby remembers her first husband and the whole family goes to Hawaii.

Season 5 - Jeremy (Ralph Macchio) first appears. Susan's baby is born, Joan's parents visit, Tommy gets a girl pregnant, Nicholas gets a horse and David and Janet separate.

I kinda like seasons 4 and 5 the best as the show gets a little bit more 80s and colourful. I also liked the addition of Merle the Pearl.

But on the whole, each season is just great. Loved that whole late 70s / early 80s timeline.

I LOVE them all & right now I'm going through S#5. Any EIE ep is pure heaven.

2nd Season, it was best season out of all 5 seasons on Eight is Enough
