I mean when exactly was he planning to move on his own? lol I believe he was making enough money to get his own spot like larry.
Even when janet met phillip Jack was shocked to hear she was moving out lol Guess he planned on living with the trio until he was 70 |

Good question! Jack was always working part-time and odd jobs and I always got the impression he didn't have much money to his name before he bought the restaurant. In fact I just watched "Now You See It, Now You Don't" in Season 8 last nite and in it he tells the girls that he's just started saving $7/month, so I guess he didn't have enough savings to live in CA alone.
Larry, on the other hand, always worked full-time and had a smaller apartment, so him having his own pad is sort of believable. But that logic begs the question of why each of the girls didn't get their own place. They both had full-time jobs, esp Janet, who was the manager of a store for five or six years by that point. |

For me and I'm sure others, TC unoffically ended after Jack opened his restaurant. By then, the show didn't work anymore since the 3 roomates didn't need to be sharing an apartment anymore.
Proof that the show didn't work anymore were the ratings in the final season. It was odd that Jack had a restaurant but no car. Even more odd, since Larry sold used cars. |

I never thought about the car thing but that's a good point. Early in the show they were always talking about catching the bus....I got the impression the bus stop was at least a block or two away. Jack was always complaining about carrying groceries from the bus stop, lol.
In the ep "Roper's Car" they discussed the commute to Janet's and Chrissy's job via the bus and it seemed arduous. A car would've been a worthwhile investment! |

And since him and Larry was so close you would figure he would get a good deal on a used car |

Well, as good a deal as one could get from Larry. It was clear that Larry only sold POS cars, lol. Hopefully he wouldn't screw the trio, but knowing Larry that's expecting a lot.
