We have both, but mainly blinds. I do prefer the curtains. They help keep out the heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

I have both. The blinds mainly for privacy and sun control. The drapes/curtains to frame the windows to make the windows more attractive.

Ha. I just use a dark blanket. Keeps the sun out. Makes it easier to sleep during the day when I cannot do it at night (insomnia)

I prefer blinds (and wood shutters) for rooms other than the living & dining rooms. Drapes attract dust!

I do like drapes for the living/dining rooms. The full length ones. They look elegant.

we have blinds which are easier for me because you don't have to stand up to raise/lower or open/close them.

Both. Curtains in the kitchen and blinds in the living room. And a third option, foil on my bedroom windows LOL.

I have both. In my bedroom, I have room darkening shades and room darkening drapes, lol. My friends always joked that I was a vampire. If I want, I can have total darkness in the middle of the afternoon.

I have blinds and curtains also.

My mother and sister joke about how I keep it dark here. They say it's like a cave. They also say I like it to be dark like a vampire. With my sensitivity to light because of my eyes, it needs to be.

My brother and sister-in-law don't have anything on their windows. I don't know how they can stand all the sun, plus there's no privacy.
