Default Mr. Furley always made it obvious he was trying to get with Janet LOL

Every season since he started the show he was trying to take her out on a date lol

The season 7 ep, 1st one of the season Janet wanted Mr. Furley to go with him to a restaurant with another guy and he got mad and changed his mind. Did he really think he had a chance to get with Janet? He was so damm delusional LOL

My uncle was in business with Don Knotts and believe it or not he was a notorious ladies man. It even broke up his marriages.

I can believe that about Don Knotts.

As for Mr. Furley, didn't he once take Janet to a French restaurant on a date?

Right, and he kept calling the waiter "garcon" and he kept mispronouncing "escargot."

The episode where Furley says "garcon" and "escargot" is a different episode.

That episode is the one where Jack is working as a busboy, but as led everyone to think he is the head chef. In that episode, Janet gets Furley to take her since she couldn't afford it herself.

The episode where Larry pays for Furley's date with Janet, is the one where Larry takes out Terri and needs Jack to be there for support.

That's right because it was very expensive and Furley told the waiter to
get them a salad and TWO PLATES

LOL@TVFactFan saying Mr Furley told the waiter on his date with Janet to get them a salad and two plates because he was too cheap to pay for the food hahahahahahahahahahahaha. Babalu, how many times was Don Knotts married? I'm surprised he was married LOL.

I always thought that too. That Mr. Furley had the hots for Janet!

I just googled Don Knotts, and he was married three times and had two children! So he knew his way around a lady!

Which was very inappropriate since he was old enough to be her father

Yes but he did fancy himself as a 'ladies man" even with younger women Remember he thought Lana was just playing hard to get, when in fact she couldn't stand him!

I think he liked Janet because she was cute and kind. More down to earth and mature than the two blondes. Chrissy and Cindy were too young and immature and he knew that. And the third blonde, Terry would have put him in his place if he came on to her, she was a blonde, but not a dumb blonde. A strong girl who stood up for herself! He figured he might have a chance with sweet, kind, homebody type Janet!

I believe Don Knotts was married three times. I think that his first two marriages ended at least in part to his numerous infidelities. Another lesson in the difference between public and private personalities.
