Why Was Melissa Sue Anderson Disliked?
According to many sources,
Many cast members did not get along well with Melissa Sue Anderson! She hated Melissa Gilbert! Does anyone know why Melissa-Sue was the way she was? She said she was very shy and withdrawn, and when "Mary" went blind, every story that had her as a main character portrayed her in a tragedy. (i.e "Mary goes blind, Mary's baby dies in a fire.") Melissa wanted to written off the show for reasons such as this. She once pushed Melissa Gilbert out of the wagon! Maybe a Laura and Mary real-life mud-fight like Laura and Nellie had would have been more real-life than anyone would have believed! Jack |
