I am happily amazed at the good quality in both picture & sound that the episodes of LITB that are being shown now on cable TV. In looking (and also listening) to those now, it is hard to believe they were made well over 50 years ago. To me, the the old giveaway production-wise is that they are in black & white. That is particularly true when you compare them to other series from that same era that are still being shown on TV today. I think this helps interest new generations of viewers to LITB. I would be interested in knowing if any of the companies who have held ownership of the series over the past 25 years or so did anything to help restore the prints.

The quality is fabulous on MeTV. Did you know that Jerry Mathers never signs DVD sets at those conventions because he gets no residuals on the sale of the DVD's.

I recently read that Frank Bank had a reputation as a man with quite an appetite for the women and made many conquests. Anyone else hear that one? You would think he was David Cassidy.

The only below average sound quality is in ME-TV's Season 1, "Beaver's Guest." The actors talk like they have mild sore throats and the sound always seems to be a little off. Have not checked the DVD. What do you guys think?
The other seasons and episodes seem very good to great. Jack |

Jerry Mathers some times spoke like he had a cold. In several episodes he sounds like he had a stuffy nose. In Beaver's Poster when June and Ward are discussing his topic in the living room, Beaver says something about picking up two poster boards when June goes to the store. Also in Henry the Rabbit when Beaver is discussing babies with June at the kitchen table he sounds like he has a cold.
