On IMDB.com (Internet Movie Database) it states that Ned Wertimer who played Ralph the Doorman was only in 51 of the 253 episodes produced. Would this be correct? It seems like he was in it a lot more than that? Especially the later episodes. Also Mike Evans...only 35 episodes? I know he left for a time, but still I was thinking it would be more than that!

He played a doorman so his role was very small. I think he may only been seen once in season 1

Keep in mind that IMDb listings are works in progress. Meaning that appearances need to be added in by editors, and it's a time-consuming process.

Anyone can become a member and begin contributing. For example, you can also add additional crediting information (like Dick Sargent "As Richard Sargent"). This kind of stuff is the result of hard work, and not magic as some seem to expect.

Anyway, for The Jeffersons or any series, please send me a message if you spot an as-yet uncredited appearance, and I'll be glad to add it for you.

I can tell you that I am one of the editors who have done extensive submissions on imdb.com as well as The Jeffersons section on tv.com. 51 appearances is correct for Ned Wertimer. I have confirmed the cast/guest stars for all 253 episodes of the series.
