The burglar stealing the pregnancy test plot was so stupid. It really insulted the viewers. At least say something plausible, like having the pregnancy test hidden in a jewelry box. They could have said Janice wanted to hide the results of the test from her husband to surprise him, so she hid it in the jewelry box, assuming he wouldn't look in there. The thief stole the box, assuming there'd be jewelry in it....Would have made much more sense than him willingly stealing a pregnancy test..

True, that was too weird. And a poster at IMDB brought up to other points as well about that particular episode.

1: How did that one dorky-looking guy manage to defeat five other people, out of whom three were (or almost were) adults? Even if he had a gun, he couldn't have aimed it at all of them at once, so it wouldn't be that hard to stop him somehow.

2: How did the robber manage to get rid of everything, except for the pregnancy test, so quickly?

Well, he was facing two kids, two teenage boys, and 22 year-old woman. I doubt any of them would have had the courage to fight back.

But I don't think he looked like a dangerous person. Will must have faced several worse criminals back in Philadelphia. And even I would have tried to do something.
