Oh No Good Times was disgusting!

With virtually all of the Thelma episodes being about love.... Pretty sad that only 2 Thelma centric episodes weren't about romance, Thelma's Scholarship and Write On Thelma. Michael and JJ centric episodes had LOTS of episodes that did not revolve around romance. Okay, okay, Thelma Moves Out was another one that just had a bit of romance,(Thelma moved out because she was tired of having no privacy with her boyfriend although she was already 20, a legal adult), but the boyfriend storyline wasn't the true focus, it was about Thelma moving in with three weirdos she didn't even know all that well, LOL.... I think the boyfriend is only in a few minutes total...So, 2 and a half episodes were it wasn't about romance is really sad)....

In Layman's terms, I was saying that it was disgusting that virtually all of Thelma's storylines had to do with romance. Only 2 episodes centering around her were not about romance....

How is that "disgusting"?

It was disgusting to females everywhere. It was offensive that the only female Evans child mainly had only romantic storylines. Only two of her stories had nothing to do with romance.

I sort of see what you mean, but she was a beautiful woman so that is perhaps why her episodes had that theme to it.

How do you know for a fact that women everywhere found this disgusting?
Did you physically go out and interview them on this topic?

You shouldn't assume that all women would have a problem with Thelma only having romantic story lines.

I'm a female and I do not find that "disgusting" at all.

That must've been the only 2 episodes where she actually cooked edible oatmeal or none-at-all.

Thelma was not a major character and was not going to get lots of episodes centered around her

I must have read this thread wrong b/c when I read the title I thought it was going to say that there were episodes where she was sleeping around a lot. I haven't watched the show in years but I'm sure even back when this show was on there were at least a few that had shows of that topic.

Thelma never slept around. Thelma never did anything "disgusting" with her boyfriends, so I am quite perplexed as to why the OP is calling her "disgusting." There was never anything "disgusting" about Thelma or how she interacted with her boyfriends. And there was nothing "disgusting" about the episodes that she was the center of.

The op may have a point about the episode with her going out with a older man but other than that I don't see a issue

Lots of young girls are attracted to older men. It's not like Thelma was a gold digger. She was young, naďve and misguided. She did nothing "disgusting."

Older would have been 29. She was dealing with a Sugar Daddy lol
