'Missing' show...but not THAT 'Missing' show

So I caught this show this afternoon as I was scrolling through the channels. Ironically, the first case I saw profiled was Jeremy Bright.

The presentation is basically the host reading a rundown of the case (much like a Charley Project profile) and a physical description of the missing person while various photographs of that person are shown--sort of like those segments on UM in which RS would do a quick roll call. There are also short "tip" segments concerning personal safety and security--mostly directed toward children and teenagers.

I'd never seen this show before. Was curious if anyone else had.

I saw it once. Airs on the local CW channel at like 5:30 Sunday mornings, or something like that, so I imagine that viewership isn't that high. Good for publicity purposes, but the entertainment value is practically nil.

Yeah, it was a little difficult to watch, to be honest. It reminded me of that conversation we had on the board about the entertainment value of shows about missing persons, and whether it was ethical to focus on it when producing such a show. I think a show like this proves that as difficult as it might be to face this aspect of human nature, you really do need a hook to capture the attention of the very vast majority of people.
