Well, the first line of the Gettysburg Address is:

"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."

Sitcomwriter's quote is signed Abe, and the Gettyburg address was written by Abraham Lincoln so maybe its a take on that or something.
