Default The finale - reimagined

I understand that the show tied up a lot of loose ends in the last episodes. But I thought the way they ended it was just sad. Tim is a car guy and Detroit is the motor city, having him move away from all his friends was just sad, especially since the reasoning was so that Jill could play doctor in Indiana. Sorry, nobody gets their 8 year degree in a few years and moves up the ladder that fast. Plus, she was a TERRIBLE psychologist who bungled advice at every turn, breeched doctor-patient confidentiality, insulted her professor and what not. Seeing everyone alter their plans just to cater to her whiny persona was annoying. Though I must admit I liked the pentultimate episode of Tool Time where it was a Jerry Springer type show, but they could have just had that as an episode where everything got out of hand and not have it be the end of the show.

Here's what I think everyone should have done:

Tim and Brad - opened their own father and son car repair shop. Flourishing business.

Wilson - Perhaps he could have become a college professor, a successful author, or even having a long run on Jeopardy a la Ken Jennings. Almost a limitless amount of possibilities. I would have also liked to seen him get married again.

Al - took over the reins of Tool Time after Tim's departure, got his own assistant. The mother fat jokes were sadly retired after his mom's death.

Mark - went to college for video producing and editing, went to work for Tool Time

Randy - stand-up comedian.

Heidi - left to become a stay at home mom. Replaced by Jenny McCarthy, who took a more active role as the Tool Girl.

Jill - met her fatal end at the hands of a Binford 6100 reciprocating saw. The perpetrator was revealed at the end of a whodunit episode.

^^^ Al quit Tool Time right after Tim did. Maybe he could have expanded the hardware store that he co-owned with Tim, Marty, and Jeff.

God bless you always!!!

I wouldn't have to answer 11 year old posts if these boards were more active, but what the hell.

Brad was off on a college sports scholarship, and wanted to play professionally. Being a live-at-home loser, working for his father for the rest of his life didn't seem to be his thing? Did I miss something?

Where would they put the fence?

Terrible idea. Ed McMahon taking over as host of the Tonight Show after Johnny retired? Sentimental notion, not particularly realistic or effective. Side men are side men because they are side men.

Another sentimental notion. Should he keep living at home in his childhood bedroom too?

It's unlikely that a level-headed person such as Randy would take such a detour in life.

Heidi nauseated me on every level possible. I agree.
