Watched the Cokeville School segment yesterday, and I noticed something when I went to research more about it today (I'm trying to find a picture of Doris Young but I can't find anything....)
The segment seemed to make it clear Doris died as a result of the bomb going off, and David went outside and shot himself, but the articles I've read seem to contradict that. Supposedly Doris was injured but did not die until David came back inside the classroom and shot her and a teacher, and then he went and shot himself. It's a confusing thing to think about. Wouldn't she have died because she was pretty much right there practically on the bomb? |

I just read the wikipedia page on the incident:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cokevil...hostage_crisis And you're right, it says that Doris was severely injured by the bomb and then her husband shot her. This was surely a factor though: "Investigators discovered that only one of the bomb's five blasting caps went off, and if it had worked properly, the bomb would have blown off the side of the building and many more would have been injured or died." |
