Default This would have taken all the fun of Good Times but we all know the Evans were

qualified to

receive welfare
receive food stamps
section 8 housing

LMAO

No family of 5 in real life would be struggling the way they did because they would be eligible for almost every government program on the planet LMAO

But to make the show watchable they had to act like those things didn't exist in Chicago

It just was always funny that a family of 5 living on a part-time income was not eligible for nothing. Lol

I worked in a building in NYC that was only on the EIGHTH FLOOR and when the elevator broke down, I was gasping for air and about to faint when I walked up those stairs. I was in my early twenties then. So are we really supposed to believe that Florida who was about 40 could make it up 17 flights of stairs??? I don't think so!

I was thinking Florida was about forty because James once mentioned that Willona was middle aged, and Florida and Willona were both high school pals about the same age.

It was always just hinted that James, Willona, and Florida was in their 40's

But there was a time where James made too much to qualify for aide which was shown in the first season.

Just didn't seem to make sense when you watched the show, not qualified for food stamps and struggling to make ends meet lol
