Default If the Trio split the winnings at the track 3 ways why did Jack and Janet care

if Chrissy bought a dumb Giraffe with her portion? Wasn't the point of them splitting the money was to do whatever they wanted?

Yeah, that was stupid of them to get mad. Pretty ungrateful too, since Chrissy let them have access to the money in the first place.

The amount of money they had for that time was enough to spend and put in the bank. And u don't see any of them go to the bank

Chrissy and Janet got mad at Jack for buying a sweatsuit and Jack and Chrissy got mad a Janet for buying a bottle of wine. I think they were just trying to show how greed can drive people apart.

Janet's bottle of wine was like paying $215 for a bottle of wine in 2014. Lol

And what chrissy paid for that stuffed confirmed she was mentally disturbed

ROFLMFAOOOOOOO!!!!

Imagine if Cindy & Terri didn't exist and Chrissy was around for Season 6, "Two Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" would've been perfect for her.

Janet & Jack could've thought Chrissy completely lost her mind by dating a mental patient (even though it was a doctor).

what chrissy paid for that stuffed animal in 1980 would be like someone paying $575 for something in 2014

The idea was to show how money creates greed. But if we can suspend disbelief for a moment I don't understand why they got mad at Chrissy. I think it showed a larger problem in that the two roommates treated Chrissy as if she wasn't able to make decisions for herself, mostly by Janet. At times it seemed as though Janet was Chrissy's (and at times for Jack) mom. Remember that episode in which Chrissy was going to go away with her boss? Janet was right in Chrissy's business asking her who she was going with, etc.

None of them ever went to the bank to deposit some of the money. In 2014 each of them would have had 433 a piece

Also of mention is that the winnings were of only $1,300 and Janet mentions they should set aside 3 months worth of rent, if I remember correctly from a season 1 episode where the trio thinks their apartment was robbed and they set aside $300 for the rent.

Now if they had set aside 3 months it would come out to $900, I mean they must had not had that many expenses like clothes and/or eating out.

$1300 in 1980 is like $3700 in 2014 so that's Janet said that

I think the fact that Chrissy would spend $200 on a stuffed giraffe and Janet would spend $75 on a bottle of wine as soon as they got some money helps explain why they're always struggling to pay the rent.

Jack's holding things up for the most part, but Chrissy and Janet still aren't saving. The fact is they could have probably kicked Jack out and just have the two of them live there if they managed their spending better.

Yeah, and there's the episode "The Kleptomaniac" where Chrissy buys an expensive new leather purse--turns out she used a credit card. Her phrase was something like, "When you really want something, you always find a way!" Imagine the debt she probably racked up....
