Well for one, vomit. I don't like vomit gags in movies and such.
Also cockroaches. |

Blood. If it's just a small cut, it's not a big deal but if it's a huge wound with tons and tons of blood then ewwwww. that really grosses me out. that's why i can't watch those kinds of movies.

I was at the hospital the other day and there was a guy in the parking lot with his hand down the back of his pants.

And thanks JennyLee for jogging my memory on this one.. No doubt, one of the most disgusting things in the world is Parvo!!!! It really is "barf-o-rama" because the smell of it will get your gag reflex going like few things on this Earth. Parvo is a viral infections puppies are subject too, and it is absolutely awful! You pet owners out there, if your dog has ever had parvo, you don't even know the half of how disgusting it is, because you bring it to the vet (which you should) and then people like me have to deal with it! Parvo makes the dog have very bad and very frequent diarrhea (sometimes bloody and mucousy) combined with frequent vomiting (obviously it's pretty deadly if not caught quickly.) Parvo has a very distinct smell that I can't even describe because it doesn't smell like anything other than Parvo. It doesn't smell like normal dog diarrhea or vomit. It is much worse. It is almost sweet smelling but in an awful way. Suffice it to say it is very very very gross and obviosly I have had more-than-I-care-to-remember encounters with it! Oh well guess it's all part of the job! (or least part of paying my dues) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Oh yeah and the other thing that really really grosses me out is the smell of death. I came home from class one day like a year ago and found my hamster dead, and I had been out all day and I guess it had died like right after I left (it was alive when I left), but by the time I came home several hours later she was really ripe smelling. It was absolutely awful. I can still remember exactly what that smelled like. It was worse than Parvo, actually, except for the fact that with that, the smell was gone as soon as I discarded the carcass, whereas with Parvo you have to be exposed to it the whole time you are cleaning the cage which can take upwards of 10 minutes. |

The smell of death that Bootsy told us about reminded me of a sad story. I had a moter route paper delivery for awhile. One customer, who I knew to be an elderly lady, was leaving her sprinkler running and she wasn't picking up her paper. The worst case scenario occured to me. Usually there is an explanation but she hadn't called the paper to discontinue delivery. I went to her door one afternoon and snooped around. Her mail box was stuffed. I decided to tell the paper about it and told them what I suspected and suggested that they call the police if she doesn't answer her phone. This was in mid-summer so by the time she had been discovered the odor of death permeated the block. It lingered for two weeks. Very strange to be reminded that some poor old woman died alone in a quiet neighborhood and no one noticed for days and days.
