Exclamation Last Seen Alive debuts tomorrow night!

I'm still a little confused as to whether or not this show is effectively the replacement for Disappeared, but nevertheless, new missing persons show 'Last Seen Alive' debuts tomorrow night, Sunday June 1, at 9 p.m. EST, check local listings. It is on the ID network, channel 192 for fellow Dish Network subscribers.

Well since there are no new Disappeared episodes coming up, it seems plausible that this is likely the case.

I'll have to live with Last Seen Alive I guess. As long as the show isn't bad, I can deal with it.

saw the first episode entitled "A Mother's Love" and was a bit underwhelmed. They profiled 2 cases, but instead of airing one, then the other, they constantly went back and forth between the 2 cases. I find that crap confusing. At least they had a new announcer.

Plus, the mother of the one girl from North Carolina was trying to pass herself off as goody-two-shoes on camera. As it turns out, she called her daughter a "bitch" and kicked her out of the house. Well no wonder she ran away. She moved in with her dad for a few weeks, but he didn't seem terribly concerned about her. I think it's telling that she reunited with other family members, but still hasn't had anything to do with the mother.

With the other missing girl, this one from Ontario, they downplayed that she ran away with a criminal and focused on other aspects of the case. Now that she has resurfaced, she has a criminal record as well.

It was apparent both had runaway and clearly didn't want to be found. Hopefully the show can improve.

Well that's stupid. And fake.

if ID actually thought this would be a good substitute for Disappeared, then it looks like they are wrong.

I still need to watch though so I can form my own opinion and maybe add some input to what you said.

Alright so I finally got a chance to see an episode of this last night. I caught the premiere of the episode with Dakota Kilpatrick and Robin Putnam. Personally, the format isn't as bad as I thought, but I still think it would be better to just present one case and then present the other. Deadly Women for example didn't need to go back in forth to present its featured women. Last Seen alive doesn't need to go back and forth to present its cases.

And honestly, I find it suspicious that they just happened to get ahold of Dakota's case within days of her disappearance. I'm sure the last thing on her Mom's mind was getting this filmed on camera. It makes me think this is scripted/fake, even though I know it isn't. But it just seems like a waste of time to jump on a case that is SUPER fresh.

Robin's case was very interesting though. I think it's possible the guy who said he isn't Lestat is just lying for him to cover his tracks. You never know, but at this point, we can't rule anything out. But I do believe Robin is in Manhattan just like everyone else believes. He'll probably be found alive eventually.

At least with this show, they're trying to make a considerable effort in covering cases where we can find the person alive.

I was thinking this too. I mean it's pretty convenient to have a camera crew ready to film at any moment something happens. It seems to me that there's a lot of recreations where something happened during the search so they had to film it to make it look like they were filming all along. The Disappeared special a few weeks ago when the mom gets that call and she gets all emotional truly seemed staged.

This show would be a lot better if they only did episodes like Robin Putnam's story.

Dakota had run away before, and ran away for a third time after she was found on the show -- for 3 months. When they found her on the show, she was relunctant to open the door and didn't until they threatened to call the police. She had also assaulted her father and got placed in a group home for troubled girls. She's a chronic runaway. She clearly didn't want to be found and I think profiling her story is a waste of time. I wish they would stop airing cases like these.

Robin's case was far more fascinating and I had mentioned it on the Charley Project thread in the "All Other Cases" forum, even before I knew it was going to be on this show. I'm not really convinced he's in New York though. When the investigator said to focus on aspects of his life that wouldn't change when he went missing (since missing persons change when they go missing) and they said art, I immediately thought of SoHo -- and sure enough that's where they went. There were only 2 sightings of him, and 1 was discounted as mistaken identity. It seem like there would be more sightings of him if he was there. I also think the whole purpose of going to New York -- the parents had received 2 uknown calls from there, was questionable at best. I can understand the parents wanting to track down every lead if they have the resources, but receiving 2 unknown calls is hardly proof he was in New York. Could have just been a wrong number or something.

Not sure what to think of the guy who said he wasn't Lestat. He seemed like a bit of a jerk though, so I'm surprised they were convinced he was telling the truth based on that.

I think there is a good possibility he is still alive. though I haven't a clue where he is.

I was also surprised that the show believed he was voluntarily missing. His CP page states that he was suffering from anxiety issues, mental illness, sleep deprivation, panic attacks, nightmares and possibly a psychotic break. I agree with the CP page when it says he may be disoriented and living on the streets, and I'll expand on it and say I believe he might be suffering from amnesia. They should check with the homeless population, starting in Salt Lake City.
